How do benefits work?
Do you live in the Netherlands and do you have healthcare insurance, a rented house or children? In that case, you may be entitled to a contribution towards the costs. Such contribution is called a benefit. Read how it works.
I want to apply for a benefit
You can apply for a benefit using the Mijn toeslagen section, for which you require a DigiD. You can also call the Tax Information Line. They will be pleased to help you and book an appointment for you to apply for the benefit with assistance.
How is my benefit paid to me?
If you meet the conditions, we will pay the benefit to you every month. After the end of the year, you will receive the final calculation of your benefit.
I want to submit a change
Is there a change in your life? For example, a pay rise or a change in child day care? Please notify us of this change.

I am leaving the Netherlands again
In that case, you are usually no longer entitled to any benefits. Check the arrangements you have to make for each benefit if you are leaving the Netherlands again.
